How To Protect Our Eyes In The World Of Technology

By 2030, 40% of the world’s population will be nearsighted, an estimate from WHO reports. As frightening as it sounds, it’s time to take a look and reflect on how modern living has significantly affected your overall eye health.

Living in the current world of technology, it’s undeniably hard to escape from long hours of screen time in front of our electronic devices, be it for work, studies, or your own entertainment pleasure. All these exposures can actually contribute to many eye issues in the near future that you are not aware of.

One of the biggest silent killers for the eyes has got to be blue light penetration. It can be emitted everywhere from our digital gadgets like laptops, smartphones, tablets, televisions, and even from the sun. Long exposure of blue lights not only strain your eyes, but they are also extremely harmful as it penetrates all the way to the back of the retina.

Air pollution is yet another cause that's linked to poor eye health. The air quality of our Earth's atmosphere gradually decreases due to the rise of natural disasters and human activities in today's world. The air pollutants containing harmful gases such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide can result in minor eye irritations and even chronic eye infections. (Sounds terrifying, but it is the truth!)

Now that you have an eye-opener revelation about how your lifestyle behaviours can greatly impact our eye health, let's focus on what you can do to give your delicate eyes the care it deserves.

#1 Blink Your Eyes

Yes. As easy as it sounds, blinking your eyes helps to bring back moisture to lubricate the eyes for better support and vision. Little did we know that the lack of eye blinking can actually lead to eye dryness and discomfort. With that being said, eye blinking should still be done in moderation and in the correct way. Here’s how.

#2 Wear Sunglasses Or Blue Light Glasses

When you're out and about to carry out your daily activities, wearing sunglasses is a great start to help protect your eyes from the sun's ultraviolet rays. To up the protection game, get yourself a pair of blue light glasses that can help act as a shield and filter out harmful blue lights rays, especially to those required to sit in front of digital screens for long hours every day.

#3 Stay Away From Alcohol & Cigarettes

We can't stress enough how harmful alcohol and cigarettes are, but it's definitely an understatement that heavy drinking and smoking can bring damages to our eye health. Multiple studies have shown that excessive drinking and smoking can increase the risk of age-related macular degeneration which is a type of common eye disease that may even cause permanent vision loss.

#4 Eat A Healthy Diet

As cliche as it is, we might have already known that a healthy diet is essential for a healthy body and this applies to your eye health as well. There are plenty of foods we can choose to include in our daily diet to get the best nourishment to protect our eyes. The best choice would be foods that are rich in Vitamin A, C, E, Lutein, and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Imagine All Of These Nutrients Packed In One Sachet

Worry less about the food choices you need to make by just taking ONE sachet of MOIIVA™ a day which is smartly packed with all the right nutrients we mentioned above. Derived from natural plants, Lutein is well-known as “The Eye Vitamin,” which strengthens the eye tissues and acts as a filter to block the penetration of blue lights. With the pair of Lutein and Vitamin C, MOIIVA™ is able to create a whole new protective layer for the eyes as your body is not capable of producing its own Lutein.

We can’t change the cold hard fact that we’re living in a technology-evolving world, but we can definitely take charge of protecting ourselves. So wait no more and get the infinite eye shield, MOIIVA™ to protect our eyes starting from today!
